Where to start, and where it goes

Four ways in, depending on how far you want to go.

The first conversation costs nothing: you describe your week, and we tell you honestly what is worth automating and what is not. After that, most people start with the discovery or go straight to the setup, and never need the two beyond them. Those are here so you can see where this goes if it works, and so you know we do not stop at connecting an inbox.

  • Discovery

    £150

Two hours, remote, when you want to know what this is worth to you before committing to it.

    • We go through your week and work out which parts of it are worth automating
    • A written report at the end, yours to keep whether or not you go further
    • Honest about what is not worth doing, which is usually more than people expect
    • The £150 comes off whichever package you go on to buy, so it is never money spent twice
  • Getting running· standard

    £1,200

Two days for a typical small business on the tools most people already use - email, files, calendar, a CRM, the accounts.

    • The discovery is part of it - we work out what is genuinely worth automating before anything gets built
    • An automation platform set up alongside the tools you already use, and the two wired together
    • AI connected to those same tools, working on your own data rather than on examples
    • A handful of automations built and running before we leave, as the working examples you learn from
    • A lesson on building your own, so the next one does not need us
    • A first dashboard over your own numbers, linked to the tools you use every day, built in front of you at a basic level - and the method shown, so you can make the next one yourself
    • The tool subscriptions are yours and stay in your name - we set them up with you and tell you what each costs
    • First month of support included, then £49 a month
  • Going further

    £3,500

Five days of our time, for when you would rather the work was done than learn to do it yourself.

    • Five days of our time. Who works on it depends on what it needs, and often that is more than one of us - you get the right person for each part rather than whoever is free
    • Everything worth connecting, not only the tools that connect easily
    • Where a tool has no way in, we find out what the options actually are and what each would cost - before you spend anything on it
    • Your own processes automated end to end, rather than examples to learn from
    • Dashboards and small applications built properly over your data and your workflows, and the people who will use them taught how to work with them
    • Training for the people who will actually use it, on their own work
    • A written handover, with how it works explained plainly, so what we built survives somebody leaving and you are never locked to us
    • Usually spread over a week or two, depending on diaries
  • Bespoke

    From £10,000

For businesses putting this at the centre of how they work, rather than at the edges.

    • The connections the tier below could only investigate, actually built - written from scratch for systems with no ready-made way in
    • Custom applications and dashboards built to whatever depth the work needs - live against your own systems, hosted where you want them, and explained well enough that you could maintain them
    • Deep integration with your codebase using AI coding tools, working the way your team already works
    • Secure shell access and automation reaching into your servers, scoped carefully

That is the standard setup, and it covers the tools most businesses are already on - Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Dropbox, HubSpot, Xero and the like. Anything unusual, bespoke, or built in-house is custom work, and we quote that separately rather than guess at it.

Afterwards

£49 a month, first month free

  • On the books

    £49 a month

No hours included. Somebody who knows your setup, and hours at £60 when you do need them.

  • Four hours

    £249 a month

Four hours of our time every month, which works out at £50 an hour with the availability thrown in. Anything past them is £60.

  • Ten hours

    £549 a month

Ten hours a month on the same terms, for when this has become part of how you work rather than something you occasionally ring about.

Without a plan
£120 an hour
On the books
£60 an hour
Inside a plan
£50 an hour

Every package above is a one-off. This is the part that carries on, and it is a separate choice - you pick a package, and then you pick a plan or no plan. Three of them, the first month free on all three, and you are on one of them rather than several.

Unused hours roll into the next month, up to one month’s worth, so a quiet month is not money thrown away. If you would not use four hours a month, stay on the £49 and buy them as you go - we would rather keep you for years than sell you a plan you come to resent.

Without a plan our time is £120 an hour - which is what an interruption actually costs. On the books it is half that, so the £49 has paid for itself the first time you need us for an hour.

£49 a month, and the first month is free. Cancel any time - no minimum term, no notice period. The £49 is the retainer itself, not an hour of our time: it buys somebody to ring when a tool changes underneath you, which they do without warning, and a few short questions a month - the fifteen-minute kind - answered without a bill. It does not have to be about AI either: between the three of us there is more than thirty years in IT - programming, networks, DNS, certificates and public key infrastructure, and the awkward old systems small businesses actually run on - so there is a great deal more we can help with than the AI. Anything longer is £60 an hour, and we will say so before the clock starts.

We write software as well as configure it, so "can it be made to do this?" is usually a question with an answer rather than a shrug.

Hours are charged only when you use them, with no minimum, and on the books they are £60 each. That rate is for short pieces of support once you are running - project work is quoted by the day.

What the retainer is for

What people come back to ask about.

Once it is running, what people need is somebody to ask. That is what the retainer is for.

Which large language model, and when
The website, the desktop app and the developer version in a terminal are three different tools. Knowing which to reach for is most of the difference between mild convenience and a genuine step change.
From chatbot to something that works
Skills, projects and connectors are what turn it from a thing you ask questions into a thing that does the job. This is the session people say changes how they see it.
MCP and the API, in plain English
What each one is, which of them you actually need, and why the answer is usually not the one that sounds more impressive.
Build and host your own site
Start to finish, without hiring anyone. This site was made that way, so we are not speculating about whether it works.
The documents you keep putting off
A business plan, a tender response, a policy, a funding application. Long, dull, important documents are exactly what it is best at.
One real task, automated
You pick something from your own week. We connect it, run it, and hand it over working.
What to trust, and what to check
Where it is reliable, where it is not, and the habits that stop it quietly making work instead of saving it.

The next step

The cost of waiting is not zero.

Somewhere in your market, a business the same size as yours has stopped writing follow-ups by hand. They are quoting faster than you, chasing money you are still chasing manually, and starting Monday already knowing where they stand. That gap does not stay the same size.

Half an hour on the phone. You describe your week, we tell you honestly which parts of it are worth automating and which are cheaper left alone. No pitch, and nothing to sign.

Or just ring us on 07816 970 768, or email hello@seamwork.co.uk.

We reply within a working day to have a chat about what we can provide and if we cannot help you we will say so, no pressure, no commitments, we just love showing off cool tech :)

We explain what we do with this in our privacy notice.
